Libby gets 30 months in jail. Whoo-hoo!
Jefferson, recently indicted, leaves House panel. Boo-yah! Looking forward to that case.

It sure is odd that if Libby had told the “truth” absolutely nothing would have happened to him. The prosecutor knew from the start that he wasn’t the leaker (it was Richard? Armitage), so there was no gain in “lying”. The whole purjury charge came from a conversation that nobody had notes on and the people having the conversation had different recollections of what exactly was said… not exactly a massive conspiratorial crime. Way too much of a punishment, the poor guy has had his entire life ruined over a few words difference in a conversation from a very old conversation. It’s also odd that the whole probe went on even though the “leak” wasn’t a crime, seems like the prosecutor wanted to keep getting paid for nothing, it’s not hard to find someone that might have mistaken the exact wording of a conversation and perjured themselves. For shame Fitzgerald, if anyone gets punished it should be him.
Woohoo.. Libby’s jail sentence is repealed by the President, at least some people see the travesty of “justice” that was carried out.
Hahaha :-)
Wonkette has it’s usual positive spin on the event.

It’s going to be fun watching the fallout.
